The journey that begins in The Watch on the Rhine expands into a sweeping, multi-perspective canvas of a family caught in the crosshairs of an empire. Set against the volatile landscape of the 1848 revolutions, The Baden Rebellion explores the high physical and emotional cost of ideological divide when the home front becomes the battleground. 

The Premise
As the Grand Duchy of Baden fractures under the weight of insurrection, the illusion of domestic safety inside the Zimmer household is permanently shattered. Torn between institutional loyalties and the desperate push for a new republic, Johan, the eldest brother, bound to the regular army, finds himself directly pitted against his fifteen-year-old brother, Florian, who has abandoned the safety of home to join the revolutionary ranks of the Heckerzug.

Told through alternating, intimate perspectives, The Baden Rebellion tracks a family forced to make impossible sacrifices—from a desperate prison break to lines of absolute moral gray—as their paths diverge toward a historic destination none of them can escape.
