The Forty-Eighters is a planned four-novel series that follows the Zimmer family from the onset of the 1848 Baden Rebellion to their exile from the German Confederation in 1854. These ordinary men and women become free-thinking, freedom fighters as they struggle to survive extraordinary historical events.
