In 2019, Ms. Julie moved from Ohio to Alabama after marrying her high school crush thirty-two years post graduation. She and her husband, the Colonel, a retired USAF fighter pilot, enjoy traveling abroad and jaunts to the dog park with their baby, a 93-pound Doberman who "speaks" Italian. The only thing the Colonel and Ms. Julie love more than travel and adventure is spending time with their children and grandchildren. 

Ms. Julie's interest in genealogy led to the discovery that her German ancestors participated in the 1848 Baden Rebellion. As a result of the failed rebellions that raged throughout the German Confederation, over one million Germans immigrated to the United States between 1848 and 1854. Like Ms. Julie's ancestors, many of these "Forty-Eighters," as historians call them, traveled with passports stamped Not For Return. 

Ms. Julie studied creative writing at The Ohio State University after earning a BSBA in marketing. In Alabama, Ms. Julie continued her education through Auburn University at Montgomery, with online courses in Effective Editing and Writing Essentials.
