About the author

As a direct descendant of the revolutionaries who fought in the 1848 Baden Rebellion, Ms. Julie blends extensive archival research with immersive, character-driven storytelling to bring a lesser-known history to light. While amateur genealogy is her hobby and writing is her passion, sharing her ancestors' story of rebellion, exile, and immigration is her calling. 

When she isn't unearthing lost family lineages or weaving her next historical thriller, she can be found at the dog park with her husband, the Colonel, a retired USAF fighter pilot, and their baby, a ninety-five-pound Doberman who "speaks" Italian. The only thing Ms. Julie and the Colonel love more than travel and adventure is spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Ms. Julie studied creative writing at The Ohio State University after earning a BSBA in marketing. In Alabama, she continued her education through Auburn University at Montgomery, through online courses in Effective Editing, Writing Essentials, and the Writer's Workshop.
